Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

This position includes the following physical requirements: Being on one's feet for extended periods of time (including walking and standing), exposure to infectious diseases, and hazardous situations for which they are trained. Be able to assist in transporting, lifting, and positioning of patients. Be able to lift, push, and pull equipment. Strong physical assessment skills. Demonstrated excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills. Ability to work effectively in stressful and emergent situations. A positive and enthusiastic attitude is required, as is a willingness to actively tackle new challenges and be able to effectively communicate in a professional, caring and compassionate manner. Accountability for own professional practice.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to current FMC ICU RNs with a minimum of one-year critical care experience. 2 years acute care nursing experience within the last 3 years may be considered with demonstrated: Maintenance of clinical competence and proficiency. Certificate in Adult Critical Care Nursing is an asset. ACLS Certification is preferred. Degree in Nursing is preferred. Experience with patient and family centered care and collaborative practice is a strong asset.
