Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Comprehensive understanding of developmental milestones. Recent (2 year) pediatric experience with tracheostomies, wound care, HPT, and central lines. The successful candidate must be able to work in different settings and environments (home environments and weather conditions), as well as be able to lift and carrying professional bags, which weigh approximately 15-30 lbs. Required to bend, pull, lift, and perform variable movements and position changes from sitting on floor doing activities with children, families, and colleagues to working at desk/computer for extended periods of time. Baccalaureate Degree or master's in nursing preferred; however, skills, and experience relevant to nursing practice in community sector will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:Computer knowledge/skills including Meditech, Connect Care and Outlook, and strong interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the principles of adult learning. McMaster Case Management training and understanding of the AHS Continuing Care Case Management Competency Framework. 2 years current nursing practice as a Home Living case manager. Knowledge of pediatric community resources and programs.
