Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:CRNA registration required and maintained throughout duration of employment CPR - HCP level required (Heart and Stroke Foundation). A minimum of two years recent (within last 3 years) Cardiology Inpatient and/or ICU/CICU/ER experience required. Physical demands required of the job include standing for extended periods of time while wearing lead, pushing/pulling/transporting more than 75 lbs. on a regular basis, repetitive motions such as typing and phone usage, and lifting/bending/reaching. Demonstrated understanding of the Cardiovascular system required (assessed via exam on interview). Demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and priority setting skills required. Preferred Qualifications:Outpatient Connect Care familiarity an asset. Perioperative experience an asset. Basic computer skills are preferred. Demonstrated reliability preferred. Strong understanding of adult teaching principles preferred. Able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
