Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 6 months bedside nursing experience in an acute care setting within the last year. The position does require the successful applicant to have experience in wound care, IV initiation and medication administration, IV, oral intramuscular and subcutaneous.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous Connect Care (Rural Nurse). Labour and Delivery and post-partum experience or a willingness to train is a must. As this facility cares for a variety of clients experience or training in palliative care is beneficial. Experience as a charge nurse and previous work as an RN in a rural setting is an asset. The following is also preferred. The following is also preferred: ACLS, NRP, FHS, training in LEAD II, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI).
