Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years current general operating room experience in a high acuity OR with 1 – 2 years specific experience in Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology. Experience in a team leader role. Experience in a charge nurse/ leadership role. Ability to collaborate within the expectations of an integrated team. Ability to demonstrate advanced problem solving skills integrating critical thinking and good judgment. Ability to demonstrate communications skills that promote respect and a positive team environment. Incumbent should have effective interpersonal and written communication skills. Computer skills, including experience in Microsoft Outlook and e-mail. MUST attach a resume to be considered for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:Perioperative Certificate from an approved school of nursing. Canadian Nursing Association (CNA) Certification in Perioperative Nursing.
