Your Opportunity:
The Registered Nurse - Women's Ambulatory Clinics will report to the Unit Manager, Women's Ambulatory Clinics, Lois Hole Hospital for Women located in the Robbins Pavilion. In a multidisciplinary environment, the Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic and other Ambulatory Clinics provide care to outpatients and inpatients requiring high risk antepartum care. The Women's Clinics are multidisciplinary teams that perform a variety of assessments and tasks including, but not limited to, fetal monitoring of Obstetrical patients, assisting Physicians with procedures, rooming patients, patient histories, vital signs, patient teaching, orientation of new staff members, chart preparation and supportive care to patients and their families. This position may be trained in other Ambulatory clinic areas within the Lois Hole Hospital for Women.
Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 3 years recent obstetrical experience is required. Demonstrated computer literacy and keyboarding skills are a requirement as this clinic is live with an EMR (electronic medical record) program. Demonstrated excellent assessment, organizational and patient care skills. Ability to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner. Strong interpersonal, critical thinking and problem solving skills. A positive and enthusiastic attitude and the ability to function in a multidisciplinary team environment. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs from floor to waist and 10 lbs above shoulder height. Must be able to stand 1.5 hours continuously, twisting and bending occur throughout the day, sit for 30 min continuously, good wrist and hand mobility and dexterity used constantly throughout day, reach frequently during the day. Must be able to use hand sanitizer and/or wash hands frequently.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in an Ambulatory Clinic setting is preferred. Experience with computer programs: Connect Care, EMR, Netcare preferred. Training and experience with EFM are an asset.
