Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Successful completion and certification from an approved Perioperative Nursing program. Participating in on call as required. Minimum two years’ experience within the last five years in an Operating Room in both the scrub and circulating roles. Critical care background and/or previous Recovery Room (PACU) experience. Ability to work in a past paced environment. Effective communication and critical thinking skills are required for this role. Ability to be standing for long periods, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:Must have the Perioperative Nursing program, ORNAC certificate. Experience with ortho, urology, c-sections, and gyne surgeries is an asset. Connect Care Training for the OR and PACU is preferred. ACLS preferred.
