Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, you must complete the following free courses: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4), available at https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules/ and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification, available at https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Two years' experience as a registered nurse. Knowledge and skills associated with oncology and/or radiation oncology nursing are essential. The ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships and a willingness to work cooperatively in an interdisciplinary environment Experience charting and navigating within Connect Care Must be able to transport and transfer supplies, equipment and people of varying sizes and degrees of mobility, including repositioning and toileting for non-ambulatory patients. This position requires significant periods of standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping and patient handling throughout the entire shift. Must be able to respond to Code Blue emergencies in the Level 0 area and deliver the crash cart, initiate the emergency response and assist the Code Team as requested.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent acute care nursing experience, within the past 2 years and/or experience in the ambulatory/outpatient clinic setting may be considered. The completion of oncology-specific education (O-PREP, ONDEC) would be considered an asset.
