Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 1 year of current acute surgical inpatient experience with complex and diverse patient populations. Prior experience with electronic health record systems, Connect Care
Preferred Qualifications:Current experience with VAC dressing, tube feeds (NG, J-tube), wound/ostomy care, drain care, Percutaneous Nephrostomy drain removal. Current certification with CVAD maintenance and medication administration, TPN, blood glucose monitoring, PCA, PCEA, Narcan administration. Certified in Ketamine & Lidocaine continuous infusions. Unit 84 is part of Hemodialysis Outreach program: Experience with caring for patient’s post Hemodialysis.
