Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum two years’ experience minimum within the last five years in an Operating Room in both the scrub and circulating roles. Critical care background and/or previous. Recovery Room (PACU) experience required. Experience with the safe surgical checklist, reviewing patient's history prior to surgery. Experience with ortho, urology, c-sections, and gyne surgeries is an asset. Participating in on call as required. Ability to work in a past paced environment. Effective communication and critical thinking skills are required for this role. Ability to be standing for long periods, and lifting up to 20 lbs. Successful completion and certification from an approved Perioperative Nursing program/ORNAC.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with ortho, urology, c-sections, and gyne surgeries is an asset. Ability to work in a past paced environment. PACU training.
