Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, you must complete the following free courses: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4), available at https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules/ and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification, available at https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Acute care experience within the past 2 years. (students with preceptorship or practicum experience in acute care will be considered equivalent). Must be able to perform repetitive physical duties that include walking long distances, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching above shoulder, and able to lift a minimum of 20 kg. Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively maintain collaborative working relationships with members of the multidisciplinary team. Exhibit strong time management and prioritization skills, with a demonstrated ability to function effectively within a dynamic environment. Must be competent in deescalation and managing patients with complex psychosocial needs Work to full scope as a Registered Nurse. Exhibit leadership skills, including mentorship/coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrate ability to manage change and adapt to changing workflows. Demonstrate a commitment to and participation in professional growth.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience caring for oncology/hematology patients. Experience in administering systemic treatment. Experience working with elements of CoAct and collaborative care. Clinical Trials or Palliative certification and/or experience. Experience with wound care, PVADs, and CVADS. Demonstrate a commitment to and participation in professional growth. Charge Nurse experience or understanding that as a RN, the expectation is to train and work as charge nurse at times.
