Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 6 months within the past 3 years acute pediatric care experience required. (Final Practicum time considered). Demonstrated commitment to Professional Development (clinical and/or leadership): avg 2 courses/year each of the past 3 years required (a minimum of 23.25 hours in 3 years). Proficient care with CVAD’s, enteral feeding and parental nutrition. Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making skills required. Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate degree in nursing. Minimum 2 yrs in the last 5 yrs acute child health nursing. Charge RN orientation and exp preferred. Epic- Nurse Adult and Pediatric Med/Surge completion. Active PALS/PEARS Certification. Demonstrated engagement with quality improvement initiatives. Demonstrated proficient care with target patient pop (pediatric cardiology, respirology and infant/pediatric GI surgery, Exp with infant and toddler age groups). Total Acute RN exp in other care areas considered.
