Registered Nurse

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse with perioperative training to join our team here at South Health Campus Surgical Suites and Minor Surgery Clinic. With several different specialties including General Surgery, Orthopedics, Plastics, Gynecology, ENT, and Sports Medicine we adhere to our sites’ four key pillars of Wellness, Collaboration, Innovation and Patient and Family Centered Care. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide peri-operative care to patients in both the circulating and scrub roles.
Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications:Perioperative Nursing course and current experience in an urban acute care OR required. Ability to perform consistently in a highly organized, rapidly moving, complex environment. Ability to collaborate within the expectations of a highly complex integrated team. Demonstrated advanced problem-solving skills integrating critical thinking and good judgment. Demonstrated communication skills promoting respect and team spirit. Ability to stand scrubbed for many hours and to meet the physical demands of the position. Ability to wear lead apron protection and PPE for extended periods as required.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 3 years' experience. Experience with Connect Care - Optime. Previous charge nurse experience is considered an asset. Recent SHC OR experience preferred.
