Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, you must complete the following free courses: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4), available at https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules/ and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification, available at https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of one year of experience is required in at least one of the following procedural areas: Cystoscopy, Lithotripsy, Urodynamics, Recovery Room, or Minor Procedures. Previous experience in an Operating Room and/or Emergency Department setting is an asset. Candidates must be physically capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling over 75 lbs. The role involves significant physical demands, including prolonged standing and walking, patient lifting and transfers, as well as frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
Preferred Qualifications:Certification and experience with IV initiation, direct IV push drug administration and ECG Rhythm Analysis. Up to date sedation and cardiac rhythm interpretation certification. Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is an asset. Certification in Perioperative Nursing, Post-Anesthesia Care, and Procedural Sedation is an asset
