Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Demonstrated advanced knowledge, skills and proficiency with a minimum of 3 years acute medicine and/or equivalent experience within the past 10 years. Demonstrated complex case management experience in the past 3 years in an Ambulatory Outpatient clinic setting, including clinical and telephone assessment and triage required. Advance knowledge of Gastroenterology and Hepatology required; this could include regimens and protocols and knowledge of IBD, Viral Hepatitis B and C treatment experience. Ability to attend off-site clinics, if necessary. Experience with Adult patient and Family teaching. Demonstrated experience in leadership roles, i.e. Nurse Clinician / charge nurse / unit-based committee membership and/or participation. Demonstrated ability to incorporate full scope of nursing practice and knowledge into clinical practice. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred. Ability to work within a multidisciplinary environment as an effective team player to a full scope of practice. Intermediate computer skills working in a variety of clinical & regional-based programs preferred. Excellent English verbal and written skills. Experience with Ambulatory workflow in Connect Care and asset.
