Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 1 year emergency experience within the last 2 years. Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Strong assessment, organization, and patient care skills, with a proven ability to communicate findings concisely and accurately. Adept at adapting to fluctuating priorities and workloads, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities. Committed to identifying personal learning needs and seeking professional guidance when necessary. 2 years of experience in medical-surgical and acute care settings, with consideration for equivalent combinations of education and experience. Holds current Basic Life Support (BLS – Heart and Stroke AED Level C) certification, with Healthcare Provider Registration (certificate must be provided). This role requires prolonged periods of standing and walking, as well as assisting in the transport, lifting, and positioning of patients. Additional physical demands include bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to those with Certified Emergency Nurse (C.N.A. or C.N.E.). Acute/Critical Care experience within the last 2 yrs. Able to demonstrate excellent assessment, organizational, patient care, and leadership skills. Triage and/or Charge nurse experience an asset.
