Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, you must complete the following free courses: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4), available at https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules/ and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification, available at https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 5 years' experience in an acute care setting and Experience (Within the last 3 years) in an ambulatory care setting. The physical ability to perform CPR on Adult Clients is required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a patient-centered approach are essential. Proficiency with Connect Care (including interpreting electronic lab results), along with familiarity with Netcare and Microsoft Office, is required. The candidate must demonstrate strong documentation abilities, work effectively both independently and within an interdisciplinary team, and possess excellent organizational and prioritization skills. Success in this dynamic environment requires clinical expertise, technological skill, and a strong commitment to continuing education and ongoing improvement. This position involves moderate physical activity, including frequent overhead reaching, upward looking, and prolonged computer and keyboard use. The successful candidate will assist patients with mobility challenges, which may involve transfers, supporting bariatric clients, and tasks requiring bending, stooping, twisting, and walking long distances. Regular lifting and carrying of 10 to 15 kilograms is expected, and the candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Fast Paced Unit, must be able to stand for long periods, work in a noisy environment, and assist clients with mobility issues.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Rheumatology disease case-management, and joint assessments preferred. BScN preferred.
