Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Proven ability to work independently. Previous experience in managing patients with complex chronic diseases including mental health conditions and/or addictions. Demonstrated ability to de-escalate patients with aggressive predispositions. Minimum of three years of recent nursing experience within the last 5 years. Current experience of working in an interdisciplinary team. Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication skills. Previous experience using an electronic medical record & competence in computer usage required with ability to talk and type. This position is part of Primary Care Alberta. Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate in Nursing. Experience in intensive case management. Experience in patient triage including phone triage. Experience working on a complex medical unit or internal medicine. Minimum of 1-year recent experience in community programs within the last 3 years. Experience in Primary Care. Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability within a complex and rapidly changing environment which may involve working with clients who present criminal/suicidal tendencies. Experience with Connect Care.
