Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent cardiac experience required. Able to stand for long periods, lift a minimum 50lbs and assist patient with mobilization and transport. Excellent assessment, documentation, clinical, organizational, and patient care skills are required, as well as the ability to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills needed. The successful candidate must be able to identify own learning needs and seek guidance in professional practice where knowledge deficits occur. Successful completion of Cardiology Unit Specific Courses and written content review.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in Cardiology or CV Surgery wards. Experience with Telemetry and Connect Care. Charge Nurse experience. Cardiology level two training is preferred.
