Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Strong assessment, organization, and patient care skills, with a proven ability to communicate findings concisely and accurately. Adept at adapting to fluctuating priorities and workloads, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities. Committed to identifying personal learning needs and seeking professional guidance when necessary. 2 years of experience in medical-surgical and acute care settings, with consideration for equivalent combinations of education and experience. This role requires prolonged periods of standing and walking, as well as assisting in the transport, lifting, and positioning of patients. Additional physical demands include bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 1 year emergency experience within the last 2 yrs. Preference will be given to those with 1 or more of the following: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Certified Emergency Nurse (C.N.A. or C.N.E.). Acute/Critical Care experience within the last 2 yrs. Able to demonstrate excellent assessment, organizational, patient care, and leadership skills. Triage and/or Charge nurse experience an asset.
