As a Registered Nurse (RN) at Hardisty Health Centre, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in both the Long-Term Care and ER/Acute departments. You will be responsible for assessing, coordinating, and delivering comprehensive nursing care while supervising staff in accordance with CRNA practice standards. This role requires strong leadership abilities, as well as experience in a charge nurse or leadership position. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team. Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills are essential. Given the fast-paced environment, this position requires the ability to tolerate frequent walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and reaching, as well as the physical capacity to lift, push, and pull objects over 50 lbs. Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58 /hour - $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years’ RN experience within the last 5 years with Seniors Health, Acute Care, Emergency or clinical nursing. Wound care experience. A minimum of 3 years charge nurse experience. Previous Long Term Care Nursing experience. 1 year Nursing Experience in an Adult Clinical Care setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

CNA certification in Hospice Palliative Care preferred. Rural experience and Completion of Connect Care training is an asset. Case Management experience preferred. Experience with the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI). Completion of Supportive Pathways or equivalent dementia care education or experience. Demonstrated education and experience with Palliative Care and wound care. CTAS and ACLS.
