Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Must have a minimum of 2 years surgical care experience. Must be eligible and willing to write the Certified Bariatric Nurse exam within 6 months of hire. Ability to help ambulate/push bariatric patients. Ability to facilitate groups and teach classes both virtually an in person. Ability to type 40 WPM. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Minimum of 2 years of experience providing nursing care to bariatric patients.
Preferred Qualifications:Certified Diabetes Educator. Ambulatory clinic experience a valuable asset. Perioperative certificate. Mental health nursing experience.
