Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Registration with CRNA. Minimum of 2 years acute Cardiology experience within the past year (equivalent to 0.5 FTE or greater). Current dysrhythmia certification. IV initiation, maintenance, and removal certification. IV medication administration certification. IV direct medication certification. Must be able to stand for long periods during procedures. Must be able to walk for long periods. Must be able to push greater than 20-30 pounds (pushing stretchers, moving patients).
Preferred Qualifications:Ambulatory experience within the past year (equivalent to 0.5 FTE or greater). Experience with the procedural care of patients undergoing conscious sedation within the past year (equivalent to 0.5 FTE or greater). Cardiac Diagnostics experience within the past year (equivalent to 0.5 FTE or greater). Experience with patient/family centered and collaborative practice approach and philosophy. Familiarity with the following IT systems: Connect Care. APPROACH. Netcare.
