Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent nursing experience in Acute Care, Emergency Room, Operating Room, Cardiac Stress Testing and Endoscopy required as expected to work in these areas on a scheduled basis. Post-grad Operating Room ORNAC course or equivalent required. Recent experience in Women’s Health and/or Labor and Delivery. Current experience with Wound Care, dressing changes, tube feeds, TPN, IV Insertion and PICC lines, wound and skin care required.
Preferred Qualifications:Defibrillation, IV, NRP and ACLS certifications preferred. If not completed prior to hire, can be completed within 3 months of hire through in-service education. Labour / Delivery experience and associated certifications preferred. Management of sterile supplies experience preferred. Recent experience in Acute Care Nursing, Women’s Health, and/or Labour and Delivery preferred.
