Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of 3-years of recent acute care and/or dialysis experience is required. On-call with callback (work alone) is required. Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Responsible to maintain active registration with CRNA throughout the duration of employment. Demonstrates excellent assessment, organizational and patient care skills. Ability to make sound clinical assessments (in-person/telephone triage). Ability to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills are essential. Please note, candidate must successfully complete in-person 6-week (full-time, Monday-Friday 0730-1545) orientation in Edmonton at West Edmonton Kidney Care. A passing mark of 80% on the final exam and satisfactory performance during clinical component is required to move on to buddy shifts which are assigned by the hiring manager.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to candidates with Alberta Kidney Care Home Peritoneal Dialysis and Hemodialysis experience. Preference will be given to candidates with Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BScN), Nephrology Certification (CNeph), recent Connect Care experience, recent Charge Nurse and/or Team Lead experience. Preference will be given to candidates with recent pediatric/adult/geriatric learning education experience(s).
