Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Nonviolent Crisis Intervention. Suicide Prevention Training. Training and experience in therapeutic effect/side effects of psychotropic agents and other medications. Experience on a multidisciplinary team. Knowledge of normal growth and development for children/adolescents. Knowledge of DSM-V-TR diagnoses for children. Knowledge of DC 0-5 diagnoses for children. Knowledge of learning issues and classroom behavioral challenges. Knowledge of assessment tools and behavioral rating scales/checklists. Minimum three (3) years current Pediatric experience working with children and adolescents (4 – 17) with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities within the last five (5) years. Applicants must be able to work some extended hours of service as needed to support evening and weekend clinic services.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in a community nursing setting. Experience in acute mental health care would be an asset. Experience supporting psychiatrists. Case Management experience. Connect Care experience. Strong communication, organizational, time management and self-initiative skills are desired.
