Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Proven ability to work independently. Previous experience in managing patients with complex chronic diseases including mental health conditions and/or addictions. Demonstrated ability to de-escalate patients with aggressive predispositions. Minimum of three years of recent nursing experience within the last 5 years. Current experience of working in an interdisciplinary team. Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication skills. Previous experience using an electronic medical record & competence in computer usage required with ability to talk and type. Experience using Connect Care an asset. This position will be part of Primary Care Alberta effective November 18, 2024. Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate in Nursing. Experience in intensive case management. Experience in patient triage including phone triage. Experience working on a complex medical unit or internal medicine. Minimum of one year recent experience in community programs within the last three years. Experience in Primary Care an asset. Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability within a complex and rapidly changing environment which may involve working with clients who present criminal or suicidal tendencies.
