Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

One year of current nursing experience working in a highly specialized Apheresis setting collecting hematopoietic stem cell and T-cells from adults with a malignant Hematology-Oncology diagnosis. A minimum ten years of oncology/hematology experience as a RN. Knowledge and experience of hematopoietic stem cell transplant and cellular therapy. Ability to withstand the physical demands of the Apheresis unit such as lifting, pulling, pushing, transferring, transporting patients and to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift more than 35 pounds. Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Experience prioritizing to ensure that emergency situations are dealt with quickly and efficiently. Experience with Clinical Trials is essential. Ability to deliver education and care instructions to patients and families to meet their needs. A team player who possesses excellent clinical assessment, has an attention to detail, demonstrates critical thinking, able to multi-task and prioritize, uses best practices to guide care. Connect Care experience using Beacon. Competent and confident in administering medications and blood products. Experience with Peripheral Venous Access Devices and Central Venous Access Devices. Terumo training/education completed in the past 6 months.

Preferred Qualifications:

Process Improvement. Patient coordination experience. Strong analytic and organizational skills. Demonstrates a professional attitude and ability to foster strong networks. Specialization certification – CONc, deSouza, etc. Proficient understanding of lab values. iStat certification.
