Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:One year of acute care experience and/or training within the past 2 years. (Students/Grad Nurses with preceptorship or practicum experience in oncology/hematology acute care will be considered equivalent). Acute care is defined as experience and/or training on an inpatient medical or surgical or emergency unit performing patient assessments, interventions, administering intravenous and oral medications, and providing patient education. Must be able to perform repetitive physical duties that include walking long distances, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching above shoulder, and able to lift a minimum of 15 kg. Must be able to assist with safe patient transfers and other duties related to patient care. Proficient written and verbal communication skills for safe patient/family care and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience caring for oncology/hematology patients. Experience in administering systemic treatment (chemotherapy, immunotherapy, cellular therapy). Experience working with elements of CoAct and collaborative care. Palliative certification and/or experience. Experience with Clinical Trials. Experience with Peripheral Venous and Central Venous Access Devices, and wound care experience. Demonstrate a commitment to and participation in professional growth. Experience with Connect Care.
