Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Adult ambulatory care and outpatient clinic experience required within the past 2 years. Clinical experience working with adult urology and/or oncology patients is required within the past 2 years. Public speaking abilities required. Demonstration of excellent assessment, critical-thinking, organizational, triage and patient care skills is required. Experience with strong collaborative skills and the ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team setting displaying flexibility and excellent communication skills is required. Ability to work in an environment with multiple, sometimes competing demands, while maintaining a strong focus on patients and their required follow-up care is required. The successful candidate requires the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner required. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills required. Physical demands including lifting, pushing and pulling, walking, standing, transferring and transporting patients and equipment on a frequent basis required.
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate level degree in nursing. Connect Care training and experience an asset. Intermediate knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office desired. 2 – 3 years of previous Acute Care experience desired. Knowledge of community resources a definite asset.
