Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

5 years clinical experience with a minimum of one year in a community-based program. One year experience managing HIV care. One-year recent immunization experience for immunocompromised adults. Patient teaching experience for sexual health and safe sex practices. Ability to work and make decisions independently within scope. Competent in responding to emergency situations as may be the only RN scheduled. Experience in providing care, establishing rapport and conducting assessments by phone and in person. Ability to perform physical requirements of position (standing, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, walking, lifting up to 15 lbs, sitting and working at various workstations, ability to initiate and sustain CPR until arrival of EMS). Ability to quickly develop rapport, have compassion and understanding for persons living with HIV: understanding of stigma and a non-judgmental approach for diverse patients. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, demonstrated flexibility and adaptability within a complex and rapidly changing environment which may involve working with clients who have addictions, mental health concerns as well as those who have been or currently are incarcerated. Demonstrated ability to de-escalate patients with aggressive predispositions. Experience with patients with homicidal or suicidal ideation. Proficient usage of MS Office (Word, Excel) and SharePoint. Recent experience using EPIC EMR. Minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous case management experience preferred.
