Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Working knowledge/experience in early intervention, maternal-child health, general pediatrics, behavioral pediatrics and/or child/adolescent mental health is required. Experience with Connect Care and computer skills required. Strong critical thinking, problem solving skills and organizational skills required. Three to five years’ experience in pediatric acute care and/or ambulatory pediatrics is required. Must be able to lift, pull, and push up to 50 lbs. Must successfully pass the Stollery Medication Administration exam with 90% or more, which is done at the time of interview. PEARS or PALS required.
Preferred Qualifications:Telephone assessment skills and triage experience preferred.
