Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years nursing experience in an acute adult inpatient psychiatric setting within the last 5 years or with an outpatient mental health setting. Knowledge of mental health diagnosis (DSM V), symptomatology and related treatment modalities/interventions. Working knowledge of the mental health related resources across the zone. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in psychiatric emergency, outreach response or geriatric mental health team. Experience in performing: MoCA, MMSE, Geriatric Depression Scale, Functional Activities Questionnaire, Environmental Risk Assessment & Safety Visit Plan and Genogram/Ecomap History. Group facilitation and providing education for caregivers/healthcare partners. Dementia care and cognitive impairment in a community care setting (care facility, residential homes, manors and LTC).
