Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

BScN required. Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in diabetes management or nephrology required. Previous experience in providing adult education. Previous experience in chronic disease management and nursing case management. Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with high patient volumes. Demonstrated patient assessment skills on medically complex patients. Must be able to lift 40 pounds and assist with transfer of patients. Must be able to push bariatric patients in a wheelchair. Must be able to type on a keyboard for extended periods of the work day.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working in the Diabetic Nephropathy Prevention Clinic. Certification as a Diabetes Educator. Previous experience working in the Chronic Kidney Disease Clinic. Previous experience working in Alberta Kidney Care-North. Experience with Connect Care.
