Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of 3 years of regular and recent (within the last 5 years) of Geriatric Assessment nursing experience (eg specific outpatient experience working with specialized assessments for elderly patients, inpatient General Internal Medicine/Seniors units). Ability to prioritize and multitask. Ability to push, pull, and lift equipment of up to 50 lbs. Must be able to participate in patient assessments, moving and handling. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods and be competent with computer skills. Must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and team skills. Must successfully complete Connect Care training.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in a Seniors' Clinic, especially within the outpatient setting (one that is live on Connect Care).
