Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of - Experience on Community Transition Team OR 3-5 years in Integrated Home Care Program OR 3-5 years in Medical, Surgical or Geriatric nursing role Demonstrates the ability to build relationships and collaborate with staff from various backgrounds Demonstrates strong leadership in role focused work, strong organizational skills, effective communication and strong computer skills Awareness of Home Care services available to clients in South zone Awareness of AHS policy and process related to Living options Demonstrates the AHS Mission and Values in daily interactions with our teams and Clients Ability to perform all assigned tasks and direct clinical care including but not limited to: Constant adjustment of position (sit/stand) throughout the shift Physical exertion including bending/walking /sitting or standing for long periods of time Keyboarding/mousing documentations for prolonged periods of time
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred Connect Care experience preferred Additional education, advanced skills, and clinical preparation across the Seniors Health spectrum (Home Care, Long Term Care, Access Center, Palliative Care and Specialty Geriatric Areas) strongly preferred
