Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Previous Emergency Department experience OR ICU/CCU experience OR Two years Medical/Surgical/Labor and Delivery experience required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated critical thinking. In this position you will be on your feet for an extended period of time (both walking and standing). You must be able to assist in transporting, lifting and positioning of patients. You will also be required to bend, push, pull, and lift equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:CTAS Triage experience preferred. Charge nurse experience preferred. Preference will be given to those with one or more of the following certifications: ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, PALS, and EPIC. Experience and ability to work with cardiac monitors preferred. Dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation of ECG’s preferred. Experience with Connect Care EHR an asset.
