Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent experience in a Level 2 or 3 Labour and Delivery unit (1 year full time equivalent in the last 5 years). Recent experience in antepartum and postpartum care (1 year full time equivalent in the last 5 years). Experience with perinatal loss. Demonstrated excellence in respectful inter-professional communication . Patient/Client/Family/Community-Centered Care. Leadership and critical thinking skills. Ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities. Understanding of teaching/learning concepts. Demonstrated excellence in performing as part of a high-functioning team. Demonstrated excellence in providing customer service.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent obstetrical OR (scrub and circulating) & Charge nurse experience. Obstetrical triage experience at a level 2 or 3 hospital. Experience in precepting/mentoring new staff and students. Candidates with experience in ER, ICU, postpartum or NICU or med/surg may be considered. Candidates who have completed a final practicum in Labour and Delivery, Rural Labour & Delivery or Acute Care experience may be considered. Up-to-date Fetal Health Surveillance experience & NRP.
