Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 5 years previous acute care Pediatric Cardiology experience is required. Demonstration of assessment, critical-thinking, problem-solving, organizational and patient care skills is required. Self-direction, adaptability and flexibility are required while working in a fast-paced, multi-faceted work environment. Requires the ability to work independently and effectively in an interdisciplinary setting and maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Requires the ability to assess patient care needs and concerns and provide nursing follow-up care within Scope of Practice. Detail-oriented and ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines in a timely manner required. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required, including public speaking and teaching abilities. Proven reliability and dependability required. This position requires excellent working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office including but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook e-mail and Calendar. Physical requirements include lifting, pushing and pulling to transfer or transport patients and equipment. Extended periods of sitting, standing and walking is required.
Preferred Qualifications:Pediatric Cardiology Clinic experience preferred. Equivalent education and experience may be considered. Competency in Connect Care, Netcare and WCCHN programs a definite asset. Baccalaureate level degree in nursing.
