Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

The incumbent will possess good decision-making skills, exercise sound judgment and be able to work effectively in stressful/emergency situations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a necessity with the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with other members of the multi-disciplinary team. Possess strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. Demonstrates an awareness of accident and injury prevention; adheres to safe work practices and procedures and is responsible for maintaining self-wellness. The incumbent must be able to work in a physically challenging environment; constant walking, lifting, bending and heavy pushing/pulling is necessary. IV therapy certification required. 1-2 years acute care experience required with charge nurse experience. Basic keyboarding/computer skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in care of PICC lines and/or blood draws from a PICC line an asset. Experience in care of medical, post-operative surgical, orthopedic, and Subacute patients is of benefit. Connect Care and CoACT experience preferred. Current ACLS certification preferred.
