Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Must have a min of 2 year experience on an acute medical nursing unit within the last 12 months. Ability to learn new skills and adapt to changing technology. Current Heart and Stroke BLS-HCP certification. Strong assessment and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Strong Critical thinking and problem solving solutions. Ability to contribute as a team member, learn within a dynamic environment and adapt/cope with change. Demonstrated excellent time management and organization skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency with clinical documentation standards (Connect Care). Candidates with previous experience on a unit of comparable acuity/patient population are strongly preferred. ACLS.
