Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:The incumbent is responsible to maintain active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) and BCL-HCP provider throughout the duration of employment. PEARS or PALS is required. Two years of recent Pediatric Infectious Disease clinical experience required, and 4 years of Pediatric Ambulatory care clinic/programs required. An additional 5 years of recent Pediatric experience in an acute care setting required. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving and teamwork skills. Must have 2 years’ experience in communication, education/teaching (individual and group sessions) with Pediatric patients and their families in a family centered care environment. Required to have 2 years’ experience in completing drug and financial application forms for funding. Proven ability to work positively, effectively, and cooperatively within a clinical environment. Excellent Critical thinking skills required. Telephone assessment and Triage experience in a pediatric clinical setting required. Experience with Connect Care, Net care and computer skills required.
