Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Baccalaureate level degree in nursing required. Three years of recent acute care urology nursing experience including oncology, obtained within the last 5 years, is required. Demonstration of excellent assessment, critical-thinking, problem-solving, organizational and patient care skills is required. Self-direction, adaptability and flexibility required while working in a fast-paced, multi-faceted work environment. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required including public speaking and teaching abilities. This position requires excellent working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook e-mail and Calendar. Physical requirements include lifting, pushing and pulling to transfer or transport patients and equipment (up to 50 kg). Extended periods of sitting, standing and walking are required.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to Master’s prepared candidates. Participation in Quality, Research and Process Improvement activities is preferred. A sound working knowledge of electronic medical record systems including Connect Care, eCLINICIAN and Netcare is a definite asset.
