Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum two years' working as an RN/RPN in emergency, forensic psychiatry, mental health or correctional services. Previous experience as a Charge Nurse. Knowledge and experience working with both diverse and vulnerable populations. Working with a multidisciplinary team. Knowledge and experience with harm reduction based theories and practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in nursing. Addictions and Mental Health experience. Previous experience in harm reduction and overdose response. Working with diverse and/or marginalized populations, particularly the homeless and people who use substances. Knowledge of problems encountered by Indigenous people in using health care services, and of health care systems providing care to Indigenous people. Knowledge of an Indigenous language.
