Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Administration Certificate (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Baccalaureate degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Graduate of a recognized nursing program required. Knowledge and understanding of a broad range of surgical procedures is required. A minimum of 5 years in perioperative nursing is required. Current Operating Room experience in a Level 1 Trauma Centre required. Working knowledge of Connect Care (EPIC). Working knowledge of OpTime. Successful completion of Connect Care (EPIC) Surgery Scheduler module. Knowledge of aCATS. Demonstrable computer skills. Demonstrable communication skills. Knowledge and participation in quality improvement initiatives required. Demonstrated organizational and communications skills and ability to communicate with a multidisciplinary team required.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in this role is highly advantageous.
