Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Current CRNA registration. Minimum of 3 years current (within one year) clinical nephrology nursing experience required. Includes experience in either hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, Diabetic Nephropathy Prevention Clinic or the Chronic Kidney Disease Clinic. Previous experience as a nurse case manager. Experience in the presentation of formal patient education. Demonstrated patient assessment skills. Must be able to type for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 40 pounds and assist with transfer of patients. Must be able to push a patient in a bariatric wheelchair.
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate degree in nursing. Previous experience in the CKD clinic or DNPC. Previous experience in chronic disease management. Previous experience with the home dialysis programs. Experience with both Connect Care and the Nephrology Information System (NIS).
