Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 6 years’ recent mental health experience, minimum 2 years community experience required. Solid knowledge foundation of intervention and treatment modalities relevant to clinical disorders and psychosocial and environmental problems required. Comprehensive knowledge of co-existing medical and mental illnesses which significantly impact the lives of homeless mentally ill individuals required. Comprehensive knowledge of psychiatric medications and factors of desired and side-effects of those medications is required. Confidence to administer injectable medication outside of a clinic setting is required. Solid working knowledge of the provincial mental health act is required. Must be confident to work from a concurrent capable perspective. Strong mental health assessment, crisis management and counselling skills required. High degree of creativity and flexibility as well as the ability to work independently and to engage and work with a diverse client population required. Basic computer/word processing skills are required. Successful completion of CPS Enhanced Security Clearance is required. Experience working with diverse populations. Experience working with the forensic population. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, high level of interpersonal skills. Ability to set priorities and organize time effectively. Ability to work in stressful, demanding and changing conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent experience in conducting physical health assessments.
