Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years of direct clinical experience in the area of acute inpatient mental health. Minimum of 6 months of direct clinical experience in a medical surgical area. A willingness to learn. Ability to work independently within specific timeframes with minimal supervision. Ability to maintain excellent interpersonal relationships with the interdisciplinary teams, students, referral sources and other stakeholders. Ability to effectively communicate with medical teams about complex mental health/medical issues. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a small dynamic team. A strong biopsychosocial knowledge base essential.
Preferred Qualifications:Thorough working knowledge of the DSM 5 and psychotropic medications. Proficiency with the connect care system. Thorough working knowledge of the continuum of services in adult mental health in the Calgary zone.
