Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

The ability to cope and effectively perform in stressful and / or emergency situations is essential. The incumbent must possess leadership and decision-making ability and be able to exercise sound judgment and use initiative. Good interpersonal and public relations skills as well as good communication skills, oral and written are essential. Good organization and coordination skills are required. The position is very physically demanding. Must be able to life / pull / push more than 25 lbs. There is a lot of above shoulder requirement for prepping and positioning of patients. Recent experience in the Recovery Room. Certification in extubating and initiation PCA/ Regional blocks / epidural protocol in pain management.

Preferred Qualifications:

Critical Care background is an asset. Certification ACLS is preferred. Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred, combination of experience and education may be considered. Ability to use various AHS computer programs desirable.
