Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

1-3 years’ experience in the Acute Care/Emergency setting. 1-3 years in a charge role. Ability to work within a team environment. Ability to communicate effectively with all Health Care disciplines. Lead 2. (Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation Course). Cam A and B. (Cardiac Arrest Management). ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support). CTAS (Canadian Triage and Acuity Score) required. Trauma 101. Follow the Policies and Procedures of AHS. Wound Care Course. IV Medication Administration Course. Experience with CVAD (Central Vascular Access Device). Knowledge of and administration of blood products. Ability to adapt to a constant changing environment. Able to be on your feet for long hours. Ability to manage a busy unit, prioritize your day, utilizing your critical thinking skills. Delegate tasks when required. Charge role related duties, and ability to be in a charge. CVAD competency.

Preferred Qualifications:

TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred. PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred.
